EVE Search - Evolutions stance on Venal Alliance

What I don't understand is, is how Space Invaders got involved in this. I've heard several rumors, of which one being that Space Invaders was given the choice by the VA council, to either quit pirating or leave the alliance. This was also supposedly part of a deal with the invading force (EVO/XAN). Now I know there's some other rumors that contradict the above. So by all means, explain to me what really happened, someone has to know, right?
